I decided since we are about halfway through the year I’d do a little update on my goals for the year. I will admit, I’ve done pretty bad and I need to make sure I turn it around for the last half of the year.
Move Out Before My Sister
I’m still planning on moving out this year, I’m just not sure if it will happen before my sister moves out. She’s leaving for college at the end of August and as much as it’s going to suck that my sisters are both gone, it really won’t be that huge of a deal for a couple more months. Plus if I find another job and it ends up being in another state or at least another city in Michigan then it would be silly to move for 2 months only to move again to a new place and I’m sure most places wouldn’t let you do that either.
Get a new Job
I’ve done a little searching and I still need to finish up my resume, but I’ll start applying this month! I really want to find a job a job that I’ll be excited to wake up for and have people I can hang out with and eat lunch with every day. I’ve thought about just blogging and designing full time but at this point in my life I need to build more relationships
Visit New York
Not sure if I’m going to do this one just because I decided to take a week off work and visit my grandma with my mom and sister. It’s going to be a lot of fun just having a fun girls week and not having anything to stress about for a while. (Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to plan my posts out ahead of time).
Go to a Blog Conference
This one might be one I’ll save for next year, moving out is my main goal and I’d rather save up money for an apartment than go to a conference. If there’s a cheap one in NYC in July then maybe it will be a possibility. I also ended up taking another amazing blog class at the end of January and loved it, that on top of the communities I’m part of have really helped me with the direction of my blog. As much as networking would be amazing for my blog, I’ve been doing a lot with building relationships online and plan on working at this a lot more for the second half of the year.
Get My Page Views and Comments Back Up
Since I switched to WordPress, I’m basically starting over with all my page views. I’ve definitely been getting a lot more comments now that I’m producing better content, the problem now is just actually getting content done.
Find the Friend I Can Talk to Everyday Again
I’m still looking for this friend and it’s probably the one thing that I really haven’t touched (minus new blog friends). It’s just super hard for me to make friends especially with everyone that lives close to me is busy with creating families or in serious relationships. I did meet one person last year that was super nice and cool, but she got pregnant and I’d just feel weird reaching out to her now since we only hung out a few times and it’s been a long time. I think my best hope would be moving to a bigger city with Meetup groups and events around. I’ve looked a few times in my area but most of them are at least an hour away and if it’s on a weekday I really don’t feel like driving over an hour after a long day at work.
My word for 2015 was unforgettable and although it hasn’t been even close, it doesn’t mean that I can’t make the second half of the year won’t be unforgettable. I’m just really excited that my blog friends are here to support me no matter what.
I’m also hosting a giveaway with The Blogging Elite Facebook group for $75, make sure you enter!

I was doing pretty good when I did my check in last month and I agree moving out is so much better than going to a blog conference. Maybe I’ll look at doing that next year, but moving out was my main goal this year and I’m so glad I did! Keep up the good work and you’ll definitely get that unforgettable year!
I’m sure it feels amazing to be on your own! I started looking for jobs last night and was getting so excited for what’s to come! 🙂
I love that you post these goals on the blog, it’s such a great way to keep yourself accountable!
I always have fun writing them too! Even if I don’t complete them!
