It’s been a while since the I’ve posted a new blog post and before I get into my August goals I wanted to confess something to you. I considered just telling all of you that I’ve been super busy since I moved, but I wanted to be honest with you. It’s been a struggle moving to a completely new state without knowing anyone. There have definitely been moments where I’ve thought I’d made a mistake and just wanted to go back home, but I’ve ultimately decided I made the right choice. I struggled with missing my family like crazy and being super lonely not knowing anyone in the area. I’ve struggled with the fact that I only have a part-time job and I’m not making as much money as I did in Michigan. Just know that if you decide to take a crazy chance, there will be tough moments, but even if it wasn’t the right choice for you there will be something good that comes out of it and you will learn something. I’m still struggling a little, but I know for a fact that moving to Knoxville was the right choice.
For my goals, I want to make sure that I don’t make as many, but make sure that they were important. I’ve definitely made too many goals to accomplish in one month
Figure Out What Visual Posts Mean to Me
I’ve never considered myself a great writer and I’d always struggled with procrastinating on writing posts. I decided during my break that I wanted to take a stab at making my posts more visual. I have a few ideas on how I want the posts to appear, but there are definitely still a lot of details I’ll need to decide on. I will definitely consider writing a post on it in the future if it’s something that anyone would be interested in.
Keep Making Friends Through Bumble BFF
After struggling with meeting friends since my coworkers consist of my boss and me, I randomly stumbled upon a new feature on Bumble called BFF. I just happened to join at the right time because someone was setting up a meet up with a few other users. We met up at a bar with about 9 other people and it was so much fun. I also met up with one of them later at Starbucks. I feel like it’s a great way to meet people and you should definitely consider organizing your own meetup when you join! It’s definitely made me want to take a chance and ask someone if they want to get coffee or lunch sometime because they might be struggling with making friends as much as I have.
Come up With A Plan
I’ve been needing to come up with long-term plans for my business and even just decisions like when I’d want to consider making this a full-time thing. It has been something on my to-do list for a while, but I’ve pretty much winged it. It’s way past time to have a business plan!
Emily, I’m so sorry to hear about your struggle! Moving to a new place and starting 100% fresh can be so tough. And knowing about your social anxiety, I can only imagine what you’ve been feeling. I’m so glad that you’ve been able to make some new friends! I’ve heard of the Bumble BFF feature, and I think it’s so nifty. I hope you continue settling in okay and good luck with your goals!
I need to check out Bumble! Then again, this area is so small that it might not help! Best of luck with your August goals!
