January was kind of a rough month for me, which is why I only ended up posting twice. I knew how hard with was going to be to find a job, but I would never have thought that it would take as long as it has. I’m 100% ready for something new and while I’ve been trying to take charge and make it happen, there is only so much I can do! I needed to step away from my blog and start focusing more on my job search because I was using it as an excuse for applying to more places. I’m hopeful that February will be a lot better and I’m excited to start getting back into my blog and make all my goals happen. Here are my February goals!
FEBRUARY GOALS
START EMAIL COURSE FOR OPT-IN – I’ve been wanting to create this for a while now and I have an outline of what each lesson will consist of. Now it’s time to actually get started on creating the lessons and the workbooks.
FINALLY, COMPLETE PORTFOLIO PAGE – Now that I’ve been working on a few projects for clients, it’s time to actually start putting them onto my portfolio page so that there is more than just one!
USE THE POMODORO TECHNIQUE – It’s really not good for me to listen/watch Netflix while I’m writing posts or doing other blog related things that take a little more focus, so when Jessica told me about this technique I knew I had to test it out. It’s worked really well for me so far and I think it will help me stay on top of things.
CREATE A TO DO LIST FOR THE DAY – I always create a million different to do lists, but they were always just things I wanted to get done at some point instead of what I needed to do for that day. I still want to set certain tasks for certain days, but since I took a short break from blogging there are a few things I need to catch up on first!
CELEBRATE GALENTINES DAY – My sisters, cousin and I all fell in love with Park & Rec last year, so we decided that we’re going to do something on the 13th. I’m not sure what exactly we’re doing yet, but I know that we NEED to have waffles with a ton of whipped cream.
READ 1 BOOK – Well, I failed at reading a book last month, but I really want to start reading one of the Rifle Paper Co books that I got. I’m thinking either A Little Princess or Heidi!
JANUARY GOALS
COLOR IN MY ADULT COLORING BOOK REGULARLY – DONE – I colored the front and back of my Enchanted Forest book, it might not seem like a lot, but they are super detailed.
READ 1 BOOK – FAIL – Like I mentioned above, I didn’t end up reading a book. You would think I would have ended up reading one during my blogging break, but I ended up spending a little more time with my family than I usually do.
KEEP UP WITH EXERCISING – SOMEWHAT DONE – I exercised a little bit and even did some Just Dance on the Wii, but I probably could have exercised a little more. I’m going to try to keep doing Just Dance because it’s a little more fun than a normal workout.
START SAVING UP MONEY – DONE – Obviously I’m not completely done with saving up, but I did pretty good with not spending money on random things I don’t really need. Christmas definitely hurt my bank account so it’s still not back where I want it to be.
APPLY TO 8 PLACES A WEEK – SOMEWHAT DONE – I definitely kept applying to places a ton, but not 8 places a week. I’ll still be continuing to apply and keep my fingers crossed.
BRAINSTORM EXTRA THINGS I CAN DO TO STAND OUT FROM OTHER APPLICANTS – DONE – I sent something out in the mail for a job that I’m really hoping to get so we will see what happens!
Great goals for the month, Emily! I’m excited to hear more about the email course you’re creating for your opt-in. That’s a fantastic way to get new subscribers on your list!

I’m super excited about the course! I’ll probably see if you want to go through it for me when it’s done and make sure it sounds good! 🙂
