About  The Art

Hey! I’m Emily Finta, and I’m the artist behind this website. (Haven’t checked out my work yet? Click here!) As an introvert, I’ve always struggled with expressing myself and showing who I am around people I don’t know. My business is my way to show the world who I am. While I might seem quiet and reserved on the outside, I can still be bold and excited on the inside.

My brand helps women show off their personalities with their surroundings, whether it’s through stationery, wall art, and more. Eventually, my dream is to create licensed collections of stationery & t-shirts for tv shows and movies like Psych and Schitts Creek because I believe repping something you love is a great way to start conversations with people you don’t know.

Get custom digital portraits with bold backgrounds (inspired by a 2D design class I took in high school). They’re a unique and personal gift option for your favorite people or profile pictures on social media. (If you use your portrait on social media, I’d love for you to tag me @emilyfinta!)

Shop my first collection of planners, including daily, weekly, and monthly options with a bold, hand-painted background (minimalist versions available too!). These can also be customized to be the perfect planner for you!

My Story

My interest in design and art dates back to the early 2000s when I was in high school. My high school art teacher inspired me to work towards a creative path instead of working in a cubicle every day. In 2009, I started college and began my formal training in graphic design. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Saginaw Valley State University.

In 2012, I started blogging and designing Blogger blogs for others and myself. I’d been struggling to connect with people with similar interests as an introvert, so I gave blogging a shot. Over the years, I’ve gone from offering web design to workbooks, eBooks & other digital products and finally figured out that I want to design something more art-focused where I can use more creativity. So I decided to switch from a service-based business to selling stationery, planning notepads, and other art.

“Love that journey for me.” – Alexis Rose

When I’m not working on my business, you can usually find me hanging out with my cat, Belle, and binge-watching TV shows. One of my all-time favorite shows is Psych. You know that’s right! Schitt’s Creek is another favorite that’s recently made it to the top of my list. I also love doing DIY projects and anything creative, including painting, basket making, and other random Pinterest projects. (Follow me on Instagram to see some of my non-digital crafts.) I’ve recently enjoyed walking and being more active (Thank you, Chloe Ting!). Other random interests include listening to music, reading books (especially thrillers), and watching YouTube.

My Values  & Beliefs

The Only Artist

While I may hire others to help with other aspects of my business, I will always be the ONLY artist that works on your artwork.

Having Fun

Watching Psych over and over taught me that you can get work done and still have fun and enjoy life.

Quality

I always pay attention to the small details and add an extra touch to make my designs unique.

Honesty

Running a business isn’t always fun, I will always talk about the good as well as my struggles and social anxiety.

Humanity

I believe black lives matter, love is love, science is real, no human is illegal, women’s rights are human rights and kindness is everything.
