Week 2 started off at Orsanmichele, where we looked at the sculptures on the outside and then went inside where they had a mini museum of the original sculptures on the building. They made replicas so they wouldn’t get ruined. Then after that we had an hour to do whatever we wanted, basically enough time to eat lunch, then we had a 2.5 hour class in a computer lab. This was probably my least favorite part of the trip! Unlike the other class where we got to see different places in Florence, this one we had to sit in a classroom. It didn’t help that the first couple weeks were spend learning how to use Flash, which I had learned last semester.

Tuesday started off at Santa Maria Novella, we looked at the church and the cloisters. Then once we were done we went to the fanciest pharmacy I’ve ever seen called Officina Profumo. It even had little “menus” of everything they had in basically every language you could think of.  Then we had class in the computer lab again!

Wednesday and Thursday was the same type of thing. We went to the Uffizi and then Santo Spirito & Santa Maria del Carmine. But on Friday thru Sunday we had free days! We really wanted to go to Cinque Terre but our teach kept telling us how expensive it would be and all these other negative things about going. We hung around in Florence for Friday & Saturday, then decided to just go for the day on Sunday! I’m sooooo glad I decided to go! I almost didn’t because I was worried about the price but it ended up only being 25 euro round trip plus the train pass in the town was 10 euro (unlimited).

We had to get of at 6:00 am but it was totally worth it! It was kinda Chilly when we first got there but eventually warmed up. Nonm of us did go swimming but we stuck our feet in the water. Cinque Terre translates to 5 towns and we visited 3 of them. The first town we went to was the one with the beached called Monterosso. It was super pretty! I would reccommend searching the beach for sea glass while you are there! I got a lot while we were there and I’m hoping to find something fun to do with it (I also need to figure out what to do with all the tickets I got while I was there)! We hung out on the beach (I got super burnt) and took a lot of pictures then decided to check out another town.

The next town we ended up at was Vernazza. I still can’t get over how pretty & blue the water was! The picture doesn’t do it justice but it still looks amazing! This was taken on the pier.

Then we found a little tunnel in the same town that lead to another view of the water.
We originally planned to eat dinner in this town but we still had time before our train back to Florence so we decided to check out one more town and eat dinner there.

Manarola was the last but definitely my favorite!

I took so many pictures! I’m pretty sure half of everything I took is either Cinque Terre or Rome (mostly the Colosseum). We ate dinner and I had some amazing spaghetti that had pesto and tomato sauce. I ate the whole thing! lol. After dinner we unfortunately had to head back to the train station and back to Florence. I really wish we could have stayed there longer! If you go to Italy I’d definitely recommend taking a 2-3 day trip to Cinque Terre!
